The M-Engin Academy Summer Program is five weeks from June 23rd - July 27th.

No; for the M-Engin Academy Summer Program, students will be housed in Baits Residence Hall on North Campus and all room and board costs are provided for by the program.

For the M-Engin Academy Summer Program, students are expected to attend the entire program from June 23rd – July 27th.  Please consider this requirement carefully if you are admitted to the program.  

Students in the M-Engin Academy will be housed in Bursley Residence Hall during the academic year.  This will preclude them from being in a residential program like WISE-RP, but they can still participate in the non-residential components of those programs.

Yes; we do not require M-STEM students to room with other M-STEM students.  You would follow the usual procedure when completing your housing contract for the Fall to indicate your choice of roommate.

There is no course credit given for the courses in the M-Engin Academy Summer Program.  These  courses are meant to preview and better prepare students for courses in the academic year, rather than replace any academic year courses.  

The stipend will be paid in three installments; $1500 at the end of the summer program and $750 at the end of each academic term during the first year provided the student participates in all required M-STEM activities.  This will be a direct payment to the student and can be used for whatever the student would like to use it for.

You should fill out your housing application according to your housing preferences, without regard to your possible participation in the M-Engin Academy.  If you participate in the M-Engin Academy, we will make sure you get assigned to Bursley residence hall during the academic year.

Since the M-Engin Academy is a 2-year program that begins with the Summer Transition Program, students must attend the summer program to be part of this Academy.  However, there are a number of programs that the College offers during the academic year that provide services similar to those offered to M-Engin Academy members, including various academic support programs and forums and workshops on personal and professional development topics.  Your assigned academic advisor in the Engineering Advising Center will be a great resource for identifying many of these programs and services.
